The first place we checked out was Denio's Farmer's Market and Swap meet in Roseville. I love this market!!! They've got a great selection of local fruits and veggies at great prices, and they're open all weekend. This is also a great place to bring the kiddos. It's best to set a budget before you go in, as to how much money your going to spend on each child, or yourself. It's pretty easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of things and way overspend. I almost left with one of those little cars kids drive around in, because I saw my sons face light up when he saw it. The only negitive to this market is the location. I live in the Arden area, in Sacramento, and Roseville's a little out of the way for a quick place to pick up some groceries. If your going to go out there then I would suggest browsing first then buy your groceries last.
The second Farmer's Market we go to is the Country Club Plaza Mall Farmers Market. It's a lot closer to our house, and more convienent for a quick grocery run. It's the okay to bring the kiddo's here, but there aren't any activities, or entertainment for the young ones. It's a great little Market with just about everything you would need, including fruits, veggies, flowers, and meats. We really enjoy this Market and we'll continue to attend this market for the convienence and prices. This market is only open Saturday morning, so if for some reason you're too busy, and can't make it to this maket then you'll have to attend one of the others listed.
The last, and in my opinion, one of the best Farmer's market is the Sacramento Farmers Market. It is located under the freeway at 8th and W street. This Market is huge. They have a wonderful mix of local farmers that sell just about eveything you could ever need. I really enjoyed the veriety and quality of produce here. Their prices are a little more then the previous Farmer's Markets, but still less than what you would pay at your local grocery store. If you attend this market, then I would suggest you walk around to check out the best prices before you buy anything.
