Top 5 tips for beginning a weight loss regimen

  1. DETOX-This occurs in the first couple of weeks when you start a new healthy eating plan for weight loss. This is when you transition your body into eating smaller portions, and DETOX from excessive sugars and carbs. This is usually the most challenging part of a weight loss plan, and may cause mood swings the first couple of weeks. Once you get past all the cravings of sugars, carbs, and having a full belly then your chance of success go way up.
  2. EXERCISE-For those of us with busy lives this can be the most challenging, after all who wants to workout after a long day at work. From what I've learned, if your a person who gets little to no exercise, the best thing you can do is transition SLOWLY. Start with any exercise for 30 min, 3 days a week. Whatever workout schedule you choose you MUST stick to it, if you don't then your pretty much setting yourself up for failure. A lot of people believe they can loose weight just by dieting, and yes you can, but you have to realize the weight will come off a lot slower than if you exercise as well, and sooner or later your going to hit a plateau, where your body takes FOREVER to loose any more weight, and this can be really discouraging.
  3. SORENESS-If you worked out really hard and experience soreness in your muscles, you must remember, soreness is a sign of weakness, and your muscles are just adjusting to being used. Some people may let this soreness discourage them from working out again. These people NEED to know, after about 5-10 min of working out, your muscles will warm up and the soreness will be completely gone during your workout, but may come back a few hours after your workout. Don't get discouraged from any soreness push through it, you' 'll be glad you did.
  4. EXCUSES-Do NOT allow yourself to make any excuses. This will only make your goals harder, and your chance of success goes way down.
  5. BAD DAY-Just because you had one bad day, weather you cheated on your diet or missed a workout, don't let that discourage you from achieving your goals. Make this a lifestyle change not a temporary plan. If your strong enough to stick to your weightless plans even with a slip up, then you will reach your goals in no time.
